I use my essential oil diffusers daily and have come to rely on them every morning and evening, but one day, my doTERRA Roam diffuser just stopped misting. It produced just a little bit of mist after nine months of use - comparable to a thin trail of smoke from a cigarette.
It is quite a common problem for most diffusers, and most likely if you use your diffuser regularly like me, you have experienced the same thing (or you will).
I realized that I have not done a very thorough cleaning of my Roam diffuser. I always use filtered water, rinse it daily, and wipe the water reservior to remove any oil residue. Apparently that is not enough. A deep cleaning is necessary every once in awhile to keep your diffuser misting strong.
Here in this short video, I’ll show you how to troubleshoot a diffuser that is no longer misting as it used to. You only need water, distilled white vinegar and a Q'tip or small brush. I hope this works for you too!
